The stylish Malala raffia bag from Made in Mada is a great all rounder - shopping bag, beach bag, gym bag or just a great everyday bag. 

Hand woven in the beautiful East African island of Madagascar, the Malala uses a net stitch technique to give a lightness and airiness to the bag whilst still maintaining a deceptive strength. Made from 100% sustainable raffia, this bag features plaited handles that are long enough to use as shoulder straps. 

Dimensions: H45 (excluding handles) × W45 × D17 cm. Available in three colourways - Natural, Light Grey and Taupe, a dark, chocolate brown.

The wonderful Made in Mada brand was started in 2014 by a pair of Madagascan expats who wanted to bring the country's traditional craft of weaving raffia to their new home country of Australia and the world at large. As well as creating exquisite, handcrafted raffia pieces to bring joy to the everyday, the establishment of the company helps maintain the traditional Madagascan crochet and weaving production and, importantly, provides local workers with a sustainable income.
